I’m looking to get a 5080 at launch will the FE cards be the only ones to get scalped badly or will it be all of them?

How would we know ahead of time?  We dont have time travel invented yet unfortunately.

It mostly depends on Nvidia's ability to produce enough cards.

I would imagine some retailers would put in a 1 card limit per account in the beginning.

From past launches. I just got into pc’s last year so the only launch that happened was the super cards.

Fair!  And welcome to the PC world 🙂  Glad to have you with us.

We can't say for certain. Crypto was huge deal with some of the launches and covid didn't help with chip manufacturing either.

I personally do not think it will be difficult getting a RTX 5000 series GPU.

Thanks, I was looking on Reddit and I couldn’t find much information but people said similar stuff with covid and mining.

A lot of it will depend on the performance in LLM/AI applications since its all the rage right now.

I am not surprised.  Covid and mining was rough...  We are trying to forget 😄

I couldn't get a PS5 for over 2 years.

It took me a few months of waking up at 4:00am to get a series x. I can’t imagine trying to get a ps5 then

I live in Norway so supply was non existent.  The larger countries got stock way before little Norway.

And we have major scalping here when we did.

I didn't have any issues getting a Ryzen 7700x and RTX 4080 on launch though.

I wouldn't be suprised if the 5090s sell for well over MSRP. The 4090's seem to be going for about 2k or a bit more now, and the 5090 seems to be a decent upgrade for AI and other compute heavy users that don't want to pay for the pro cards.

Of course.  The 5090 is going to go well over MSRP, especially partner models.  No doubt about that.

They will still be available I think, not scalped too much.

There are some Pre-Builts from the biggest PC company here in Norway already having some PC's listed with a price for the entire PC ( I trust this, used this site since 2005 )  They don't change prices or put up hold prices.

I picked all components in the PC manually without the GPU and calculated the GPU price to match the Pre-Built..

I landed on 3270 dollars for just a 5090 and this is with leaving 600 dollars profit for the company on this prebuilt.

Norwegian prices are insane however..   My RTX 4080 was 1630 dollars converted.
