Does adding a pcie wifi card to bottom pcie slots decrease lanes to the cpu? Help.

So i have a Gigabyte X870 Aorus elite wifi 7 motherboard. Now imI added an ssd in a gen 5 slot in the mobo, so my 4070ti super is already running at 8x, i also added a intel wifi card  to bottom pice slot cz i dont wanna use the mediatek wifi card in the mobo. But does adding this wifi card reduced lanes to gpu further? I am a noob at pcie lanes.. please help. Thanks.

Which one? If you used the top Gen 5 slot that wouldn't happen.

No, that's not how it's wired. The main thing to know about PCIe lanes is that they always depend on how the motherboard is wired for what is shared and what isn't, and this can be figured out by the motherboard spec sheet.

No, that's not how it's wired. The main thing to know about PCIe lanes is that they always depend on how the motherboard is wired for what is shared and what isn't, and this can be figured out by the motherboard spec sheet. 

i populated all m.2 slots.. so bottom ones too, so for sure GPU is at 8x, but I heard that doesn't effect performance, but this bottom wifi card I am confused if it reduces any more lanes or not.

It doesn't. Again, if you read the motherboard spec sheet, that bottom slot is wired through the chipset and doesn't share bandwidth with the GPU slot.

Ahh ok.. i downloaded gpu z now.. Under load gpu z sayd gpu running at PCIe x16 4.0 @x8 4.0, and when idle it says gpu running at PCIe x16 4.0 @x8 1.1

That means the GPU has PCIe 4.0 x16, but it is only running with 8 lanes. To save power it switches from Gen 4 to Gen 1.1 speeds while idle.

If you look at the board's specs you can see that the x16 slot shares bandwidth with some of the M.2 slots, so when they are in use it's reduced to x8.

okk, so in this case then i guess that the wifi card is not effecting any more lanes to the GPU right? I populated all the ssds, cz I heard 16x to 8x is no performance loss on a 4070ti super, but then I was worried the wifi card maybe taking more lanes

No. As was already said, the other PCIe slots are attached to chipset lanes.

 

Typically only the top slot and some M.2 slots are attached to the CPU lanes and may or may not share bandwidth.

 

Some CPU lanes are reserved for the chipset, and the chipset then provides its own lanes to the rest.

 

Technically anything attached to the chipset shares the same lanes between chipset and CPU. Since that is usually only things like Wi-Fi and possibly more storage it should usually not matter too much. But it won't affect anything attached to the CPU directly.
