I have a RTX 2060 with 6GB of vram and 32gb of DDR4 system ram and most games these days require a minimum of 8GB of vram and usually an older card than my card. Is it still good to play a game with less vram than recommended and will the system ram be used if I don't have enough vram. When I bought this card most games were recommending vram of 6GB or less.

Yea system ram will be used, but performance may be worse.

I'd try the game and see how it does with low settings.

Would the speed of the system ram affect the quality. My system ram is DDR4 3200mhz C18. I don't want to have to get a new card if it's still good for games and all that is lower then recommended is the vram.

games will lag signifcantly as vram runs at 16 gbs compred to the 3 of your system ram and it also has to hop throw ur cpu causing more delay

I only have a few games at the moment that recommended more vram than I have and I don't want to have to buy a new card yet. I want to wait until a bunch of games require more and it is worth the upgrade as a card is a big spend in a computer. If it recommends 8GB of vram and I have 6GB than that's not too bad. Would faster system ram than my 3200mhz C18 be a better upgrade than a new expensive GPU that's meets the card recommendations to run a games but low on vram.

How do those games you have run?  You say you have some that recommend more, so you tell us... does a 6GB VRAM card have issues in games that recommend more?

You own the games and the card.  Play them.  Tell us.

VRAM is usually used to store textures, the higher the resolution, the higher the VRAM, turn down your game's texture settings, should be fine.

There's games now where 8gb really is the minimum is the problem.
