Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this so I was hoping you all could help me out. I have a Terramaster Nas. I was looking to move to either a Qnap or a Ugreen Nas. Is there a way to do so without losing all the data on my current nas? It is currently in a raid 0 (I believe) configuration where each hard drive has redundant storage. Please let me know what I can do to switch Nas enclosures without losing my storage. Thanks all!

Nope gotta transfer the data from the existing drives.

Also raid 0 is just about the WORST you can pick for data redundancy (if its raid 10 aka raid 0 + 1 its about the third worst option)

How would you recommend transferring from the existing drives?

Genuinly just a copy and paste job. Can use a file transfer tool on a secondary system, the old terramaster or the new nas you get. Whatevers easiest for you.

Get new drives. Or put the current drives in the new nas, wipe them, and restore backups.

GOtta ask, why get a new nas? Whats wrong with the terramaster?

How would you recommend I back them up?

Also I got it on a budget and it was a bad idea. Quad core arm processor and 1gb of ram is a bit light for backing up videos. They also stopped supporting it with software updates and the delisted the application to back it up remotely so every time I get a new phone I need to hunt for the apk online. I'd like something with more backend power for backups and better support from the manufacturer.
