Help with building NAS

Go to solution Solved by Bersella AI,

This setup is sufficient enough. My server has a dual-core Pentium G4600 processor, and has been hosting a dozen of services for years.

TrueNAS Scale and HexOS come with native support for Docker. There should be an official Tailscale image in the Apps section, and only a few parameters (including an auth key) need to be filled. The Docker Hub webpage may be referred to for more details.馃槂

I've decided to build a NAS for storing photos, videos, and other files. I already have 4x 2TB HDDs, which I think will be sufficient for now. I'm considering using Hex OS, as I鈥檝e tried TrueNAS before but I'm also intrigued by Hex OS.

I haven't decided which system to use yet; I have an i5 6500T along with a MOBO and 8GB of RAM. Is this system adequate for a NAS build?聽

Additionally, if I choose to use TrueNAS, I would like to know how to set it up so I can access it from anywhere, such as Tailscale.
Can anyone guide me through this?聽
