My Windows 11 Start Menu Search infinitely loads when I try to search for something and flashes what I assume is the build number on the bottom right. I have tried rolling back my updates and a registry hack I used to make search nearly instant by disabling any web searching to no avail.

Could you look into these folders and see if maybe one of the files is causing forever load.

[%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu] (for user-specific Start menu items)

[%ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu] (for system-wide Start menu items)

[%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu] (for user-specific Start menu items, similar to `%AppData%`)

[%UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu] (for user-specific Start menu items, similar to `%AppData%`)

You can enter those path into explorer between [ ].

Hope you'll find the culprit.

Otherwise you could windows repair.

Open the CMD and enter this command.

sfc /scannow

It will check system files and repair them if any of them is corrupted.

If none of them work, could try creating new user and see if issue persist.

If not then its related to one file in your menu that's causing forever load.

Good luck.

I'm jank tinkerer if it works then it works.

Regardless of compatibility 🐧🖖
