so i like modding and well i also like modding game consoles and swapping shells out. so this is just a list of parts to buy for consoles. its not evry console or evry part. i was going to keep some of this stuff to myself but decided to pass it on.

so a bit about me and consoles. started with a nes and played smb3 with my dad. later on he got a snes(also had the black killer instinct console but lost it? cant find a pic of it dont no why?🤔) and a few games with it and the rest was up to me to get at pawn stores. had a game cube before i left home. latter on got a ps3, wii but mostly played my pc and yes i had an crt monitor at that time and built my i7920 with an 3549 or something fan less...🤷‍♂️ but anyway i had to sell some of my stuff like most of my nes stuff as i was moving.  anyway between that time i modded my ps2, xbox, xbox 360, wii remote shells and back then they were like $40 called the ghost shell. probably round 2012 ish...

anyway so there are shells for may consoles and controllers as well as mods and this is a list of interesting shells to me. im more nintendo fan as i grow up with it but i still collect xbox and ps consoles and controllers (dont have many games for them thow) lbp of coarse. just got an astrobot but no ps5...

some point i got a bunch of consoles 30 sfc and 30 n64(modded them cut the tabs out of the n64 and sfc cut the slot bigger not worth doing) and like 140 n64 controllers and about 350 sfc controllers i was going to fix and resell. but its so much work and boring opening them up to fix em and is not worth doing just get a minimum hour job even ifs its 4 hours a week you make more moeny for your time and its guaranteed sales. most game stores fix stuff like this on there down time with no customers so.

if you do it as a hobby thats fine to but for prophet its not all that. posably installing hdmi mods you can make moeny with that thow...specially when tired from work and have tendonitis...

so for snes\sfc parts: difference from snes and sfc: snes has purple buttons 2 concave 2 convex and long cord, sfc 4 color buttons all concave and short cable. they sell lots of this stuff from japan as no one has space or time for it and they get it for free (from like hard off sos like store) so they sell it in lots mostly junk lots. form time to time you can get a deal but prices have been going up mostly shipping. some lots its a gable wither the stuff works or are all broken. for sfc controllers problems are mostly dpad rubber broken, button pad broken, or start button broken (why the start button i dont no...🤔🤷‍♂️ or they just need a cleaning. so you can find pads online and some are good and some are not. there are some that use white rubber pads and the contact pad has bumps on it witch make it so it dose not contact right if you find a way to rub thow bumps off you can make em work probably...then there was a clear pad witch didn't have thow bumps hard to fined these days...i found a few so ill link them. i use a usb to nes\snes\n64 adapter and go to device manager and left click on the game pad and you can calibrate it and see witch buttons work. for n46 all of the 140ish controllers i got its all been the joy stick loose witch you can get an gc like joystick to replace it. there are parts to repair the oem joystick and vary in quality so might need some trimming to make it work. there are ways of fixing the holes in the joystick bow with an ball baring and maybe the re print of the joystick or find good quality oem joysticks. some times in the lot you get a tight stick witch is lucky. they have so many of this stuff they sell it as junk and just sell the nice looking stuff. lots of junk oem joysticks from stores can be found too on ebay all the time. kinda un taped market thow require some leg work and a name i guess.

links are just a place holder and whats available to me in Canada and you might find cheaper prices els where.

also alot is from aliexpress there are resellers with sites but they add alot to the cost like $60 vs $300 in some case... i no its there job but its a bit much some times. if you can afford to buy from them do so up to you. some stuff will only be left at there sites. things come and go also on aliexpress just take time restocking. at fist aliexpress sucked but now it has PayPal and so far not been scammed yet so... but you can be at any site and i have been on all sites so...🤷‍♂️

wave bird shell swap all swaps require cutting some plastic and you have to cut for the dial on the controller and dongle too.

why shell swap? well 3 party controller they just kill them self's over time but you want the cool color it has. i shell swapped red wii mote, transparent orange ps3 (didn't work right) wavebird, xbox 360. for consoles that i shell swapped are snes, n64, ps2 slim fat, xbox, psm, ps, gamecube, wii (also didn't work right) attempted switch remote, pro controller, switch back panel.

swapping the switch shell: the back part is essay to do but the front requires you taking the whole thing apart and using a heat gun to remove the screen so its a big job i would pay some one to do it imo.. for switch light also have to take it all apart also heat gun the screen and need to take it apart to replace the joy sticks same gos for the controller.

switch controller: is ok to swap shells but its tetanus to do say 6 out of hard scale. small peaces.

sfc and n64. you can do the retro bright to un fade the sfc but there not much prohest in sfc atm...so

nessnessfcn64007.thumb.jpg.4fb6496d5d9045072048794d6befa7bd.jpg

opening controllers for days...and days...and days...oh... i dont recommend you open each sfc controller up as there shells are slightly different so was a pita to put back together. just do one at a time. pro tip the nse controllers are a junk lot as it and lost the gamble something is broken with them other then the pads and dont no how to fix so that was a loss 🤷‍♂️ im guessing its the big chip? (ya its the big chip CD4021BE need to be un solder and new one resoder)

pcupdate009.thumb.jpg.0511e7a16c2a9f546188152c15e2645f.jpg

this is the idea of the snes to sfc mod not worth doing just buy an adapter. the n64 mod is easier but still. cutting the tab out of a snes to fit sfc games too probably is not worth doing making your snes games more sloppy. i thought of doing to add value to my systems as there not much money to be made with them.
