Budget (including currency): -

Country: Sweden

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: COD B06

These are specs today: RTX 3060, i5-11600KF, kingston ddr4 2666MHz 16GB, cooler master elite 500 230v v4 psu, ASUS prime h510m motherboard.

Currently im running b06 at around 120-140fps at 1080p with lowest settings. Im looking to upgrade gpu to a 4070 super to increase both frames and quality at "higher" frames. Im completely new to both building a computer or installing new hardware. With the components that I have today, am I able to just switch gpu or is something else needed? Thanks in advance for your time.

Hey there! Welcome to the Forum.

A 4070 Super is quite a decent uplift in performance over the 3060 and its a great upgrade if you are looking for some extra frames.

Maybe even take a look at the AMD Radeon 7800 XT.

Swapping out a GPU is actually fairly easy, even my 67 year old mother could do it.

The problem here is your power supply.  I can't recommend you upgrading a GPU with this power supply as its very poor.

Changing power supply is a bit tougher as it requires you to remove all previous cables and do it all again with the new power supply.

For someone who it not familiar with working on a computer it can be a little difficult and time consuming but very doable.

Everyone who is new to building a PC has to go through this with their first systems 🙂

It might seem scary but there are many guides on youtube.

I can also help out if you need anything, I have done this over discord calls many many times.

We usually go by the PSU Tier list https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/

On the Tierlist your power supply is on the E:Avoid section.

So if you are to get a new GPU, I would highly recommend to getting a new power supply as well.
