Would you know if I could even update the bios considering the fact I can't even get into it? Thanks

If the problem is that you need a BIOS update, you unfortunately do not have a motherboard that has a BIOS flashback feature ( Updating the BIOS without a CPU )

You would need a Ryzen 7000 CPU to update the BIOS.

If you are able to return the 8500G and get a Ryzen 7600 instead that would be ideal, the 7600 is also sliightly faster.

Hi, I need help with a new build I have. The pc powers on with only the fans spinning to life. The keyboard lights up for around 2 seconds and then shuts off completely with just a black screen, I cannot access bios using del/f2/f12/f11 and the pc just lifelessly spins.

The pc specs are as follows:

Ryzen 5 8500G

Asus Prime A620M-K motherboard

Xlr8 RTX 3060

Crucial ddr5 5000MHz 2x 8GB

I have tried unplugging and replugging every peripheral and component. I have reseated the ram CPU and GPU. I have tried using the iGPU from the CPU and still nothing. The only time it does anything is when I plug something in while it's just spinning with the black screen and when I reset CMOS. They just cause the keyboard to light up again. Any questions and I'll try to answer as quickly as possible

The motherboard might need a BIOS update if its to work with the Ryzen 8000 series.

The Ryzen 8500G need BIOS version 1807 or newer to work.

If the motherboard has a older BIOS, it will not work.
