First time building...

Looking to build my own desktop (not gaming), just need a little guidance, where to start, what's needed?  Just some advice to get started.  Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum.

There are plenty of build guides on Youtube that you can check out!   LTT has done a couple over the years.

 

If you need help picking out parts, let us know the budget and currency and we will make a list for you.

 

Well, you start by having all the components for the build itself

 

Have a large clean surface to build on like a kitchen table. Some people prefer to build it while sitting on the floor.  Try to avoid carpet.  Good lighting can be helpful.

Different size screwdrivers and some zipties for cable management.

 

Other than that, nothing else really.

The rest will come with the parts like case screws, motherboard screws and thermal paste should come with the cooler.

 

I have helped quite a few people that come here asking help on the LTT Forum over Discord while they build their PC's.

Thank you both for the quick responses, I will start with the knowledge given to me and if I run into anything else I will come back, I used to be really good at this but some years have past and things are very foreign to me now.  Regards.

Its like riding a bicycle  You never actually forget, just takes a few minutes and off you go
