I appreciate this forum is titled “Audio” … but I couldn’t see one closer to the mark …

I’ve simplified by setup downstairs to use just a Firestick. Previously had a cabinet which also had a 360, a Steamlink, a Freesat recorder, none of which I actually used

I’ll initially resist fleshing out the full setup, but suffice to say I now have it in another room with the amps, not where any of my my TVs are

Predictably, everything works fine except the range on the remote is no longer long enough

Can anyone think of a nice solution to control it? I have a few but none are great:

1. Use my phone … reconnecting every time you want to pause is slow and annoying if you want a guest to use it

2. Use an old smartphone and keep it awake, connected and kiosked … would need to be kept on charge a lot

3. Move the Fire Stick back … possible, but I’d rather keep it with my network, audio, router etc out the back

4. Jank an Android app together and send the keypressed over logcat … tempting

I wonder if there’s a third party remote that uses WiFi or similar?
