Looking for IEMs

Jozi

Hey guys, I'm looking for IEMs.

I'll be using samsung galaxy s3 to listening music/radio while I'm at work. I have some old crappy phillips iems at the moment and left sides volume is much much lower than right sides so I'm looking for new more durable ones if possible.

- I don't need in-line mic.

- I prefer balanced or bass heavy sound.

I'm currently interested in:

SteelSeries Flux

Razer Hammerhead

http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Hammerhead-Ear-Music-Headset/dp/B00DYNQR4S/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1401368550&sr=8-2&

If anyone has experience on flux or hammerheads please tell me are they any good.

If someone knows better iems for the similar price point let me know.

I'm not getting anything too great like ie80 or flux pros because my work is very abusing for iems (cord gets pulled 1000x/day etc). So I want something that I wont get mad over when I break them .

Still, I'd stay away from peripheral branded IEMs. Few of them are quite decent, but most are just...meh...

Budget? If around $100, get the Shure SE215. They sound great, and don't worry about cord yanking. The cables are put around the ears. Could be quite awkward the first times, but after a while, it's actually feels better to wear IEMs that way. And it's kinda yank-proof. Even if you yanked it, they won't come off.

Another plus thing, if the cable is damaged by whatever reason, you can just buy a new replacement cable, and plug them to the unit, just like that.

Alright, found one good shop that sells shure SE215 in europe so I'll look into them. http://www.thomann.de/fi/shure_se215k.htm

I don't mind that cabels go around ears.

Budget is around 50-100€.

Having not heard them, I'll still vouch for the SE215 based on other great things I've heard said about them.

I'm voting for SE215 based on the girl in that picture....

That's enough of that, thanks.

How about the VSONIC GR02 Balanced Edition?

Review of the earlier Bass Edition model http://theheadphonelist.com/headphone_review/vsonic-gr02-bass-edition/ which seems to have been discontinued. The Balanced Edition are the newer, better built version.

Probably should mention this anyway: 1 more IEM that's in the budget range, and sounds a tad better (for me) than the SE215, is the Yamaha 100SL. In term of sound, I like Yamaha a bit better, but in term of physical itself, the Yamaha is much smaller, without the wire that goes around the ear, and fixed cables (not replaceable). So by physical alone, I prefer the 215 over the 100SL.
