Budget: 3k USD

Country: usa

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Ark, Dwarf Fortress, Rimworld, FF14, BG3

Other details:

I am planning on upgrading from an i7 10700 pc to a brand new build. I am looking for help deciding on AMD vs Intel for the cpu. My wife's pc had a 13700 with the stability issue, and the whole experience made me reconsider what I would use for my next build.

I'm not looking for insane 4k framerates, but more for reliability and being able to handle large cities/bases/forts in simulation games. Any help with choosing a cpu is appreciated.

I will probably only keep 1 sata drive for secondary storage. I do live close enough to a microcenter. Overall it will be a fully new build.

Plus this... puts you at around $2100.  You have a lot of room to tweak, Ie. the case is subjective so that is a place holder only.  Otherwise feel free to tell us what you think and we can help tweak.
