Hello, a quick question about what to do with my UPS.

If a power outage happens and my UPS starts battery mode. Then I shutdown my pc completely and turn off the PSU just in case. After this, what is the next thing to do? Turn off the UPS and unplug it? I won't be using it and I don't know when the power comes back. Is this unhealthy for my UPS or is it a good thing to do? Thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is the UPS is designed to allow you to operate your device (PC, coffee maker, television, whatever) under normal conditions that would allow the user (you) to normally shut down the device.  After your device is shut down, then just shut off the UPS to prevent any/and/or/all power surges that may or may not occur when the commercial power comes back on.

Once commercial power comes back on, then you can turn the UPS back on allowing it to provide conditioned power back to the device(s) that you had connected to it prior to the power going off.

Like I said, that is the way it was explained to me way back when in another life.  I hope this scenario answers any questions that you might have but if not, please feel free to continue the conversation below.  I'm sure that someone will have more knowledge about how to use an UPS than I do.  My brain is a little foggier now than it was 25 years ago.

Take care and good luck.

I usually just silence any alarm and prepare to shut down my things, unless its a very temporary outage.  Then you can just leave it as is unless you think you should conserve that stored power for an absolute emergency, then I would unplug any devices from it to limit any potential draw and leave it on the wall in case power is restored so it can charge.  If you are in a setting with lots of equipment like a server rack, leave it as is and prepare to shut down devices unless they are critical.  But that all also depends on the capacity of it I'd say.
