Help with first NAS

Just set up my first NAS.  Boots fine into TrueNAS core unless I have another hard drive attached other than my boot drive.  Tired different sata ports and hard drives  all not letting it post.  It will start up into the Asus screen to go to Bios but will not do anything there not even go to Bios.

Are these new HDDs or used? Are they wiped clean? A failing HDD can cause a system to not post.

They are ones that are used but were new when I got them.  I wiped and reformatted before putting them in the NAS.

Can you send us the exact motherboard model (if you built it yourself) or system model (if it's a prebuilt server or NAS appliance) you are using?

Its a  ASUS ROG B-450-F Gaming II Motherboard

Ryzen 5 5600X

32 Gb 3600 Corsair Ram

Your ports are fine i think, check boot order and test each drive individually ( connect them one at a time )

A problem is if anything other than my boot ssd is hooked up.  I cant even get into Bios.  it just stays on screen to go to bios but wont do anything.
