Budget (including currency): $550 USD

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Monster Hunter World, Various VR Titles, Destiny, Forza, Baldur's Gate 3, Counter Strike

Other details I've had my current PC for a little over five years now, with upgrades here and there. Now, with a new monitor (Alienware AW2724DM) getting ready to be purchased, I have started to look at a potential GPU upgrade. I've enjoyed the 5700XT that I have for a while, but with the newer games I have been playing recently, it is beginning to show its age. I'm looking for something that can handle 1440p at High/Medium settings while still getting 120+ frames per second. I am also looking to still be able to play VR games through SteamVR. I have no real preference for manufacturers (ie Asus and Gigabyte) and prefer AMD cards, though I am fine with NVIDIA ones as well.

A 7900 GRE is within your budget. 16GB of VRAM is awesome too!

I'd look at discounts for 7900 XT

Or 4070 Ti Super, but 7900 XT is more realistic, 4070TI Super is 700+$

The 7900 GRE is one of the ones I considered, but would it also be worth it to save the money and get a decent 7800 XT?

The 7800 XT is also a very good card!

Its up to you if you find the performance of the 7800 XT enough for you.
