Hello,

I need to replace 2 speakers (Electro-voice zxa1) and the wireless receivers/amp (everything in the pictures)

I'm not an audio person persay so this is very much out of my comfort zone.

The speakers were dropped and stopped working and the rest is 7-8 years old (so I'm told) so I've been asked to replace it all with a like for like equipment. Its mainly used for home days at work and occational chariity events..

Any advice/recommendations would be appreciated.

Cheers

Gary

Is this a professional setup? A conference room? Personal desktop setup? An auditorium?

What inputs are you expecting? Does it need a remote?

What is the purpose of the setup?

So much information needed.

What is a home day at work?  Never heard that phrase before.

If you need this for charity events, at a venue.... you need mounted loudspeakers?  What is the square footage of the room/area?

No offense but what are YOU tasked with this?  Who has no experience in audio?  Even if you do know audio, public venue audio is a difference animal.

What inputs are you expecting? Does it need a remote? 2 xlr from the amp

What is the purpose of the setup? Mainly small events - 40-100 people most of the time, backround music nothing special

So much information needed.

I'm the IT service desk manager, the people here are not tech people, no of my team are audio people. I could go to a professional service but I'd have to spend charity money.

I can wire it up myself, I can test it myself - I just don't know what the like for like replacements would be.

  • 2 weeks later...

Did they even consider just repairing what they have? This gear is not that bad. Especially the mixer and the Sennheiser receivers. As long as they work, upgrading them doesn`t make much sense since the replacements will basically just work the same as what they have now.
