Aspect Ratio of a 1680x1050 monitor

Fireball927

Hello Everyone :)

I am thinking of buying a second monitor to match the aspect ratio of a 1680x1050 monitor that I think is 21 inches. I would like to buy a 23.6 or 24 inch monitor depending on the aspect ratio and I am considering the following options:

24 Inches:

Acer G246HL:
http://www.amazon.com/Acer-G246HL-Abd-24-Inch-LED-Lit/dp/B0098Y77OG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1401314501&sr=8-2&keywords=24inch+monitor

23.6 Inches:

Asus VS247H-P:

http://www.amazon.com/Asus-VS248H-P-24-Inch-Full-HD-LED-lit/dp/B0058UUR6E/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1401315249&sr=8-4&keywords=24inch+monitor

As you can see, I am trying to stay around/under $150.00, However I do have some flexibilty if you are willing to help me find a monitor :)

I would also like to know if aspect ratio is even important when pairing with a smaller moniotr

Thanks in Advance

@Fireball927 the acer looks nice from the window shopping experience. I'd go with that.

Decent for TN Monitor.

I have an Asus VS247H and I love it. Good quality, 60Hz, 1080p and great color. I think if you are pairing monitors you want the same aspect ratio, because you notice if you pair a widescreen laptop with a square-screen projector, the edges of the laptop screen go black to match? Maybe this is different when you are extending displays, but I would recommend the Asus one. I dont think resolution matters but you want the same ratio (21:9, 16:9) etc.

Hope this helps!

You need a 16:10 like a 1920x1200 or 2560x1600

[AMD Athlon 64 Mobile 4000+ Socket 754 | Gigabyte GA-K8NS Pro nForce3 | OCZ 2GB DDR PC3200 | Sapphire HD 3850 512MB AGP | 850 Evo | Seasonic 430W | Win XP/10]

ASUS VS24AH-P its actually just above 200$ and is the cheapest of that resolution on Newegg.

I cant find a reasonable 1920x1200 monitor :P

Its considered more of an enthusiast/prosumer resolution.
