So I have been out of the hole printer game for I don't know, 7 years give or take? I need, well I want a printer for a few college classes I'm taking and was wondering if anyone has any cheap-ish? Recommendations that are wireless and I don't know, Print stuff? Able to work with smart phones? Not sure what kind of things to look for in a printer lol.

Any and all recommendations are welcomed and appreciated, thanks.

Support for wireless printing and smart phone apps are not features that you will find on "cheapish" printers. If you want I printer with those features though, I recommend the HP Photosmart 6520. I got one several weeks ago and it's awesome. I can print to it from any where I have internet access. Anyone crying about bad printers has just never experienced a good one. But that doesn't mean all printers are bad.

Depends whether your willing to buck up and get your credit card outta your wallet.

any of these brands are reliable and mainstream.

Brother, hp, canon, sharp, epson, lexmark.

Personally you want a printer that has scanner. Prints either laser or inkjet or maybe both. Wireless is pretty nice. CMYK or black & white.

Where are you situated?

searching on the internet for printers is fine and dandy but you gotta check a electronics store for a feel of the printer you're buying.

Thanks everyone for the quick replies.

@wng, I'm in a main stream place I have access to stables, best buy, wal-mart, etc. I just figured that they would be a lot cheaper online compared to at a big box store. I was hoping someone would have some experience with a cheap and good buy, "hoping". Doing a large assignment right now "summer classes suck", so don't have a lot of time right now to shop around.

My biggest gripe with a printer that I've had so far is when they just won't load the paper, drives me nuts trying to make it load. >.<

i had so much more than that, since i am the tech guy in the family and when ever my parents want to print something, i end up doing it.

all printers will do something bad when u use them every once in a while.

No, only cheap printers do that. The Canon printer I just replaced worked fine for 5+ years. I only replaced it because I wanted to go wireless, there was nothing wrong with the printer after all that time because I didn't cheap out when I first bought it.

OP, look at it this way. If you spend $100 of a decent printer, and that printer lasts you 5 years or more, that's a $20 per year investment. Which is extremely good. The HP printer I suggested is on sale all over the place, including the link I provided to Amazon.

If you don't need color, go for a laser printer. Dell and Samsung both have cheap versions.
