what's the difference

Go to solution Solved by bullshark369,

The Crucial P310 has PCIe 4.0 x4 and nvme 2, where the Crucial P3 uses PCIe 3.0 x4 and nvme 1.3. Gen 4 can do 2GB/sec/lane of read and write  speed x 4 lanes = 8gb/sec. Gen 3 can only do 1gb/sec/lane x 4 = 4gb/sec. This won't exactly effect your performance when downloading stuff since you'll be limited by internet speeds anyways, but it will effect your boot times, and the program startup times among other things. Once you start a program most of it is ran in the RAM however so it makes no difference at that point.
