Hi guys!

Ok guys i have a serius problem, my beloved oldie monitor is dying on me..

The problem is that the backlight turns of and back on( flickers) every couple of minutes, but the power led also flickers when the backlight turns of and on. :unsure:

The problem is 100% inside the monitor as i tried diffrent computers, diffrent inputs(VGA,DVI) and diffrent cables that i know work.

Is that something i can fix, is it a poor contact or do i have to change the whole backlight in the monitor itself? 

ps. basic soldering isnt a problem to me.

 

I really want to keep this monitor as my second one so if its fixable that would be great, :D .

it might be replaceable there might be a guide online what monitor is it?

And the shit news is that warranty expired a couple of months ago.. :angry:  Like it was made by EA!!

I'll open this sucker up to see if there is a poor contact or something and if i can swap the backlight :D

or see if you can swamp the back light transformer, if that's the issue. Maybe you can find the part on eBay.

i checked out what you said if the problem is in bl transformer, the thing goes for 12 usd. But im sceptic if it would be reasonable to buy the whole ip board which is on sale for 49, id rather then just buy a new monitor because this one is quite old.

For a cheap fix im in but im in no way spending 50+ usd for parts to make this one work :D
