ask yourself the question: what could LTT add to the space?

you can find heat guns of all shapes and sizes online, all the way down to the $20 range.

also, i have a free lighter that does fine just fine heatshrinking in small spaces.

@Kubikaijiri If open flames isn't a concern: Dremel Versatip 2000

https://www.dremel.com/gb/en/p/dremel-versatip-f0132000ja

Very nice butane burner. comes with the channel/half circle accessories for shrinking heat shrinks.

@manikyath Lighter do work for small heatshrinks. but thicker ones  with glue (takes a long time) or white color (soot) can be a challenge.

The Declaration of Independence, once the charter of democracy, begins by saying that certain things are self-evident. If we were to trace the history of the American mind from Thomas Jefferson to William James, we should find that fewer and fewer things were self-evident, until at last hardly anything is self-evident. (G. K. Chesterton - Aug. 14 1926 (The Illustrated London News))

i have a news flash for you: a lighter can produce a lot more heat than a small heat gun. the reason heat guns are big, is because making air hot is very difficult.

I already mentioned interchangable tips and ergonomics. I have one of the mini ones and there are no tips available for it and the ergonomics suck. I haven't researched for these things because I don't need to buy a new one at this point.

And just because there are cheap options available doesn't mean a good premium option isn't needed (a la LTT screwdriver). Also, cheap doesn't mean safe or reliable.

A premium option could also have good temp and/or air control. I'm sure there are plenty of other things that could be improved on as well.

An open flame is not always a viable option, especially when you're working around parts that cannot take that kind of heat.
