I am interested in installing the latest version of Debian without a GUI on an old computer I call "The Moldy Nugget" and then configure a minimalist window manager or whatever this is in the picture with somebody's OpenBSD setup.

 

I think it will be cool to use Debian like MS-DOS but I'm able to run terminal programs on multiple terminal windows as shown below. Opening up Wordgrinder and browsing the text-based sites on Links2 sounds like an idea that'll make me feel like a 1990's hacker in the movies. I really like this window manager in the picture below but I don't know what it is.

Just install the netinstall version of debian, then install your wm of preference.

 

In the case of that screenshot you sent, it's bspwm (right there in the screenshot), a wm similar to i3
