Just wanted to say hello to the Linus tech tips community.

I am new to forums and this is my first post at linustechtips so excuse me if i make any mistakes as I don't quite know the rules yet so feel free to guide me if I do anything wrong.

Lets get to the point of this thread (I'm not sure if this the right place to ask).

I am planning to purchase the rog front base along with the z97 hero as a bundle and I was wondering whether the front base is capable of adjusting the speed of 3 pin fan headers.

If yes, will it be able to change the speed of the stock front intakes found in a 750D, corsair AF140 (I can't find a 4pin af140, not sure if they even come with 4pins) and the corsair 120 led version.

I know 3 pin header fans can only be adjusted through voltage but I was wondering if rog front base takes care of that.

Thanks looking forward to hearing from your expertise here at the linus community.

I believe that the motherboard itself will have a large range of fan headers. The product page for that front base thing under specs doesn't say it has any, just 'fan control' which is maybe a manual override for fans.

ASUS bundles fan control software with almost every motherboard.

Thank you for your feedback, I am aware that I would be able to manually adjust the speed through the mobo but I like the looks and the idea of the ROG front base which you can change speeds on the go with some other functions such as overclocking and monitoring CPU temp (not sure how good the overclocking feature is). If its able to adjust the speed of 3pin fans then I will get it, if not then I won't get it.
