Hi everyone,

I've encountered a strange issue while using Amazon Prime Video's web app. Whenever I open the app, the screen goes completely black as soon as the page finishes loading. The only workaround I've found is to unplug the DisplayPort cable from the GPU and plug it back in. Oddly enough, doing this from the monitor side doesn’t fix it.

I also tried using Spotify's web app, which caused the same black screen issue. Interestingly, the Spotify desktop app gave me a black screen once as well, but that was only a one-time occurrence out of hundreds of uses.

So far, these are the only two web apps where this happens. I’ve been using the same monitor 'ROG Swift PG27AQDM' with my previous PC, and I never experienced anything like this before.

Has anyone else encountered this, or does anyone know what might be causing it? Appreciate any insights! Specs attached.

Thanks in advance.

It could be due to a form of copy protection (probably HDCP). If if detects that you are trying to copy/rebroadcast copy protected content it will disable the output.

Do you have a capture card or are you using any screen recording/sharing software?

Not to my knowladge, discord is running in the background but thats it. I was never streaming on discord either when this happened, and I keep very few programs running overall. There is a PCIe USB 3.0 hub in my system could it think that is some recording device?
