Can we know the context of why you're asking this question? This is usually the 3rd or 4th question along when diagnosing certian scenarios and almost never the first.

Generally, the only time the motherboard itself is the cause of slowdowns is if the VRM overheats and causes power throttling. There can be BIOS issues that cause performance regressions for one reason or another, these can be a nightmare to diagnose (the only real way is to do a BIOS update and notice that performance doubles), but these thankfully are rather uncommon and usually only an issue very close to the launch of new products. If your motherboard is midrange though and you're on a newer BIOS, your motherboard almost certainly isn't going to be the issue.

is damaged?

Damaged results in either instability or the system not turning on at all, a damaged motherboard doesn't slow down software.

This is the 3rd thread OP has started. First he had a 4th gen i7 now a 6th gen. He has dated hardware.  Nothing to do with damage.

Yeah this is just ancient hardware. Nothing to see here. For some reason OP expects his nearly decade to over a decade old hardware to perform excellent.

As everyone in the last thread tried to say, at the end of the day it's decade old stuff. Issues such as a bad motherboard with poor vrms is frankly irrelevant given it being a decade lol. These were quad cores, a potato motherboard has good enough vrms.

Like OP, if you're not happy with the performance go buy new hardware or get used to it.

If it's 6th gen like others have said, that's your issue, not the motherboard. It's almost 10 years old, it's not going to perform great by today's standard

And with 6th gen (4th gen was the same), even the worst motherboards are good enough for games. No shot is the motherboard.

4 or 5 fps is nothing in the grand scheme of things.  At what frame rate do your games normally run at?  With a system this old, a minor windows update could be the cause.  Hardware that old is lore susceptible to code changes at any level.

Look man.  That’s what I’m saying.  With hardware that old, you have to expect that newer updates to system software may cause some undesirable effects. That’s just simply to the system having to process additional code with the updates.

What we are trying to tell you is “that’s just the way it is”.   You cannot expect a system like that to maintain the same level of performance over time.  If it was in a time capsule where time never moves, sure. But this is not the life we live in.

Accept the 4-5 fps loss and concentrate on saving money for newer parts. And hopefully, something more modern.

Sometimes building systems with bubble gum and duct tape can introduce more problems than what they’re worth.

so you are telling me its slow down cause the hardware is old and obsolete, well i get it very cheap
