Just make sure your CPU is compatible with the speed and timing. I found that out recently when I tried to implement XMP profile, and found that it wouldn't even boot to windows. The problem was the Mobo supporterd the memory speed and timing but the CPU didn't.

Just set 2133 mhz, and 11-12-11-28 CR2 timings. Maybe pump the voltage a bit. Job done.

Codename: HighFlyer, specs:  CPU: i5 2500k cooled by a H70ish(2 rad)   Mobo: MSI MPower Z77   GPUs: Gigabyte GTX 660 OC 1150 MHZ core, 3150 memory both   RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16G @1600mhz   SSD: ADATA Premier Pro sx900 / HDD Seagate Barracuda 1TB/Samsung 1TB   Power supply: Corsair RM650 80+ Gold   Case Corsair Carbide 500R   5.4 ghz achieved on the good old 2500k, may it rest in peace. Change the frequency, change your timings, and adjust voltages until you it posts.

CL7 at 1600mhz is already excellent. It's it's a great kit, 1866 at CL7 would be great, but if you have to sacrifice to CL8 for more mhz it's not worth a dime.

Pump that voltage. stay under 1.6v. memory controller built into chip.

Cas 8 isn't really going to add a dent for your "it's not worth a dime" statement. 1866 at cas8 is still good. My own kit runs as cas 9 for 1866, but there is a tradeoff when you use 8gb dimms over 4gb ones.

Personally, I wouldn't bother running ram above 1.5v unless you are running benchmarks for an overclock. It's added heat and stress for hardly any real world gain. If I want 2133mhz, I can do that, but I'd rather stick to 1866 at 1.5v vs 2133 at 1.65v. :P
