I'm unable to figure out why Shadowplay stopped working. I've tried reinstalling the app, changing video output dir to SSD or HDD but nothing. If i reinstall the app, it works, but then its not long before the problem returns. I know its not a hardware issue cuz every other recording software i tried output the recording normally. Shadowplay says the recording has started/ended and thats saved but there's nothing on the dir.

I'm very used to Shadowplay and its simplicity (been using it for years) and hate to have to consider an alternative. Would appreciate if someone could help figuring out why i'm having this issue.

Just to make it clear: the problem is, the app says it has recorded and its saved but there's absolutely nothing on the dir.

Use DDU then reinstall your nvidia drivers.

There's no seperate Shadowplay app either afaik so not sure whats that about,  its included in the nvidia driver.

make sure the "dir" is where you're actually looking for the videos. happened to me, was looking on C but it was on D ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

From my understanding its included in Geforce Experience so i don't have to reinstall the driver itself and I have reinstalled Geforce experience which does make Shadowplay output the recording again but then the problem returns later for seemingly no reason.

And yes i'm looking at the right dir, i've changed it around thinking there was something wrong with my drives but since other software like ShareX output recordings to either, it seems its a Shadowplay only issue. Weirdest thing is that this is a new-ish windows install from July and my previous was near a decade old and Shadowplay never gave me problems on that one. I briefly considered it could be a Win issue but it doesn't make sense when it doesn't affect any other software besides Shadowplay.

NO. YOU HAVE TO DDU THEN *FULLY* REINSTALL THE DRIVER.
