As I sit here waiting on wolfenstein and watchdogs download I was just thinking about what a drought of decent pc games there has been recently...I mean I've been playing child of light and I love it but I didn't pay $750 for my 780ti just to play a game that runs at the frame cap using 30% of my card at 300mhz lol.. What's your opinion on recent games

For the past 5 years or so, games are not that appealing to me... maybe i am loosing interest and/or they don't make them has good has they used to be, despite the notorious evolution in graphics, which not always mean that given game is worth or not.

I am the type of "lone wolf" gamer - i like a well built game, with good visuals, mechanics and gameplay, but above all that, it has to have an awesome story. For the past years the gaming industry has been so centralized in multiplayer gaming (it's not that i don't like multiplayer, some times i enjoy playing it) that the competence in creating games with awesome "story telling" is disappearing.

The last game i enjoyed playing was Bioshock Infinite, because the story and the plot were spetacular, and it really caught my interest.

What about oblivion?

I mentioned Bioshock Infinite because it was the most recent i have played... I like Oblivion i played it back in 2006, i have skipped Skyrim because i knew it would be a very time consuming game and i don't have time for long periods of gaming anymore.

Time - another factor that is making me play a lot less than some years ago...

Yea skyrim is pretty decent but not nearly as good as oblivion was when it was released

But yea I dunno skyrim only took me about a week to play through the story and about another two weeks I was completely bored with it

I'm kind of OK with it. I'm already so behind on games I want to play so getting those downtime periods between releases is good.

My currently installed list of games that I want to play is rather large. Second playthrough of The Witcher 2, Riddick games, Risen, The Last Federation, MaxPayne 2, playthrough of Human revolution directors cut, Bioshock2, Metro2033, Serious Sam TFE and TSE, Civ5, SupCom and firged alliances, and a second playthrough of the new Wolfenstein. I'm currently playing Supraball and Hearthstone.

These are just installed games, I still have lots of others I want to play.

I have to say it must be nice to be in your position where you can actually play that much games, enjoy it :D

Didn't Transistor just come out a couple days ago?

TransistorSword.jpg

Also, for whatever reason, in general, during the second and third quarters of the year - April to September -, there is a drought in games and films. Maybe it's because - for those that consider it summer -, people tend to do other things like travel rather than stay indoors since there's nothing preventing them from going outside like snow or heavy rain. Anyway, there aren't going to be many games for any system coming out, good or bad. Nintendo has Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. 4 with MK8 close to releasing. They're both multiplayer orientated games, but people would rather be outside or have their kids not locked up until school, well, that's how it was back in the day. I don't know about Sony, Microsoft, or PC. For multiplatform, we just got Wolfenstein, Transistor, Child of Light, and Watch_Dogs. The Evil Within just got pushed to October, which is a great move since Halloween and horror go hand in hand, and that's pretty much it.
