Hello guys,
I'm looking to build a budget pc for my friend.
my plan is to use i5 12400 on Gigabyte H610M H V2, which have ddr5 support.

on Crucial memory support page I'm seeing  CT16G48C40U5 👆

what is the difference between  CT16G48C40U5 and  CT16G48C40U5.8AW ?
Will  CT16G48C40U5 work fine on the above motherboard ?
Cheers

Most likely yes, especially given how slow they are. Memory support lists generally aren't exhaustive. They list modules the manufacturer has tested as working. That doesn't mean other modules don't work, it simply means they weren't tested.

Remember to either quote or @mention others, so they are notified of your reply

In DDR4, I think the numbers after the . indicated the config of the chips/ranks. I don't know about DDR5.

At least, the Asus QVL is much more specific about the exact config and the memory chips used when they tested the modules, whereas Crucial don't give you this information.

If you buy it through Crucial I think their policy is that they will refund you if the configurator recommends memory that doesn't work.

I wouldn't get a single stick of 16gb ram. You really are going to want dual channel..

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.
