poor ethernet connection

hey guys im new here so sorry if this isn't the right forum... basically recently I've moved house, nothing crazy, very close to my old place actually. anyways since I've moved I've been playing cs2 on my computer and I have been hitting 1000 ping regularly to the point that its unplayable. i have a ethernet connection too- is there anything I can do to solve this? or is it something I should speak to my internet provider about? I'm not rural or anything btw so idk whats going on....
