Upgrade Help!

Looking upgrade recommendations as i have an older system that id like to get back up and running.

Currently has:

  • I5-3570
  • Asus Strix GTX 970
  • 8GB DDR3 Ram ( I know this will be in dire need of being changed)

Ideally for now id like to keep the GPU, but open to ideas for changing everything else on no more than a £250-300GBP budget for light gaming. Thanks

More RAM, look for used kits to save some cash.

Don't know what PSU, case fan configuration, case and dive you have. Also the knowing the use case could be handy.

Would the 4790k be better than the newer i5 chips? I know its a good few years old

Would the 3770k be the same socket as the 3570? That would help keep the budget down a good bit if it did

Wow i didnt know that! You think it would be good enough to run most games then? Not expecting mega settings but if it helps keep things playable then i may try and find a 3770k cheap

Nothing overly heavy, CS2, GTA V and possibly Warzone and stuff like that. All somewhat demanding now but hopefully with a few small upgrades while i save more money the i7 and more ram might make a difference
