Bought a https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LLF9NS1?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

About a week ago. Seems like a nice monitor VA panel. Little bit of ghosting and some motion blur. All in all not a terrible purchase. But then i noticed they have essentially the IPS version:

Do you think it will make a huge difference? Was thinking of buying the IPS version and comparing them side by side and just shipping back the one i don't want. Repackaging is a PITA but i would do it if needed. Or will itl be too much trouble for something that might not add much to my gaming experience?

I'm no monitor expert (I'd like to think I am) so take what I say with a grain of salt. The 32GP850-B offers better color accuracy, viewing angles, and a cleaner image in terms of ghosting as well as having gsync/freesync-premium compatibility (its also advertised to be 50 nits brighter but that's negligible). Your current monitor would have a better contrast ratio being that its VA (Your monitor is advertised at 3000:1, while the ISP version is 1000:1), but that's about the only "benefit" you would get. In most cases IPS is just better although VA can have its moments. At the end of the day it all comes down to preference and what you want. If you want slightly better color performance, a slightly cleaner image, and better viewing angles then it might be worth upgrading and sending the other one back. But if that sounds like a hassle and you are already okay with the monitor you have then it would be fine. It is still a great gaming monitor.

With IPS you get slightly better colors and better response times, but worse black levels. Depending on what you like VA monitors might even be better suited for you. I was perfectly happy with all the VA monitors I had in the past. Even budget VA monitors won't ruin your experience imo. They just won't be quite as good as the significantly more expensive IPS models.

But that applies to most monitors. You can almost always get a better one if you're willing to spend more money, until you hit around $1000 where the top-tier monitors are.

So if you're happy with your current one, I wouldn't bother trying to sidegrade.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
