My next build log is something a little different, it will be my sim racing cockpit based on the  new GT omega ART racing seat, my set up show far is a modified G27, stock G27 peddles Trustmaster TH8RS shifter with some custom made gear gates by rightongates. I'm planning making a dashboard/button box, handbrake cooling using a PC fan and ducting, keyboard tray and drinks holder with the aim of making the most realistic thing in my budget and the most awesome looking. I'm also planing on wrapping the rig in carbon fiber and using as much real carbon fiber as I can to make items such as the button boxes

one thing I really have to do is some sort of quick swap-able wheel option, upgrading to the fanatec clubsport V2 peddels

This will be a long build log and will take a long time to complete (if ever you always add more!)

Corsair 650D, i5-4690K (Corsair h50 cooler), Asus ROG maximus VII Ranger, Asus GTX 980ti Strix, 16GB Corsair Vengeance pro series Red (2x8gb 2400mhz), Corsair HX850W, Asus Xonar Essence STX, Sennheiser HD595 / Beyerdynamic dt 770 pro 250 ohm, Samsung 850 pro 128GB / WD black/blue/green, OCZ vertex 3 60gb . Corsair M40/Corsair k70.

Nice. Gonna follow this. I really need to finally build my cockpit. Only have the chair and G27 so far.

You mean like this? http://chilicoke.com/logitechwheel/g27adapter.htm

I already have that, I mean something I can use to swap wheels quickly, I have a few, some deep dished OMP replica, a MOMO prototipo, and plan on getting an open wheel/DTM style wheel and something old and wooden (I do love classic cars)

something like this WB_Yoshioka_Black.jpg

Update: so far things are not going to plan, seat doesn't slide backwards and when I'm sat in the seat the chair was in my chest! no good at all, phoned GT omega and they are sending me replacement parts, I have to say fantastic customer service!

chair itself is very comfy and looks great, I'll post some pictures soon.

  • 5 weeks later...

Following this, any update, news, pictures, please!

What seat you have with it, standard or RS6?

I'm so close to hit order button on GTOmega ART and Obutto Articulating Keyboard/Mouse Tray from Obutto.

My other rig choices are Obutto Ozone, GamePOD and GTultimate. But I believe that ART is the most sturdies and adjustable of them.

Hardware is going to be:

Thrustmaster T500 RS, with TH8RS shifter

Single 27" monitor, oculus rift when available.

Buttkicker gamer with simvibe software

I went with the RS6 seat, I would love a bit more height, distance adjustment of the wheel
