Was planning a build for my friend and it's looking half-decent for now, but PCPP keeps popping up with the USB 3.2 Gen 2 to Gen 1 adapter note. Is this true for the specific mobo I'm planning to use?

Nah, adapter isn't needed, the case USB port will just work at Gen1 speed then
