what are some good cpu and motherboards for an amd rx 6900xt? i currently have a i9-9900k and a rog maximus xi code and feel like im not getting everything out of my gpu.

7800X3D, 7700X, any other AMD CPUI and any of the new 9xxxx series and almost any B650 board. Some Intel CPU not of Gen 13 or 14

See what others are using, their rigs are usually listed in their signatures...

I saw a very decent jump in average framerate and a massive increase in 1% and 0.1% lows going from my 9900k@5.2Ghz all core to a Ryzen 7700x. I use an RTX 4080.

Most noticeable in Hell Let Loose, Metro Exodus and Tina Tina's Wonderland.

The 9900k is definitely starting to show its age and its basically a Skylake CPU from 2015 on steroids.. and not very good steroids.

Same thing for me. I went from 9900k to 7700x, then 7809x3d. The intelyo and jump was impressive, the AMD to AMD less so. I was also using a 6900xt until a couple days ago.

I'd definitely go at least 7700x, preferably the 7800x3d bundle from God's Favorite Store.... Microcenter.
