Hey folks,

what happens/ happend: I browsed the web, then my PC crashed and booted again. Right after that it restarted with the screen stating “ASrock” on top and in the bottom saying “Preparing automatic repair”. The PC crashes again after that. Now the PC restarts with the same ”ASrock” statement but WITHOUT “PREPARING AUTOMATIC REPAIR”. Then it crashes, restarts and the “ASrock screen comes WITH “PREPARING AUTOMATIC REPAIR”, then it crashes. the different “ASrock” screens always switch! The error code doesn’t change in any bit.

As the automatic repair fails I can assume the safe mode to not work either, right?

what I can do:

access my bios

what I can’t:

anything else as of now

my specs:

Windows 11

Ryzen 5 7600x

Radeon 7900xt

ASROCK b650e steel legend

Seasonic Prime GX 850w

Samsung 980pro 1tb

Barracuda ST2000DM008

what should I do now?

Can I safely just shot down my PC (the loop is still running)?

what are the next steps to troubleshoot?

the stop code: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

this issue can be alot of reasons butlets go basic steps ok ? I hope you have a flash drive and a working second pc. Download and write memtest on it. Boot from flash on broken one. See if you encounter any issues. If you dont know how to use that program. Just boot it and send a photo !

If you don't have any flash drive or second pc here are some steps to check :

reset bios - by taking out battery or with ui factory reset. dont enable xmp etc just see if it boots.

See if you have anything janky attached to your pc - a flash drive etc. Try without them. My old pc didn't boot with vr headset plugged in lol.

Check your ssd in bios. it should have "nvme" test in it. See if that helps to test ssd.

If you have usb and working pc we can try basic repair commands as well after you put windows install on usb.

how its goin mate ? hope my post helps. Maybe drop a like or follow ? >w<

no ? i guessed that 😄

In fact, boot with *absolute minimum* load out. Keyboard, monitor, mouse, nothing else

if that doesn't yield any info, also try making a windows install disk and use it to run startup repair.

I'd suspect first that its some sort of corruption from a hard shutdown to the bootloader. Once in a while instability like that isn't uncommon, I used to get those occassionally while 'idle' until I direct-die cooled my CPU (which involved a lot of steps including reseating the CPU).

You'd be best off booting into a Windows iso, if you have the USB drive still setup you likely used to install Windows. There's like a dozen things to try and instead of copy+pasting the whole guides, I'll just link them:

How to repair your system files using DISM and SFC /Scannow (Build: - Microsoft Community

Windows Command Line Bcdboot Command (computerhope.com)

Builder/Enthusiast/Overclocker since 2012 with a focus on SFF/ITX since 2014.

memtest failed, switched to 1 ram stick and booted, failed, switched to the other one, failed again.. How do I know it’s my mb slot or both ram sticks?

is bios set to default ? sometimes xmp fails.

Safest way to test would be trying a ram from totall working computer if that is possible. (cross testing.)

But here is a trick you can try for your ram.

Take out both ram. Take one of em them  and use school rubber on contact points . blow it of any residue. Chuck it in.

There is a %1 chance of cpu might be issue as well but like i saild its %1 or so.

how its goin mate ? hope my post helps. Maybe drop a like or follow ? >w<

Imma reset my bios then. The only weird part with my memtest was that only the 6th index was not correct. it was always 2 hexadecimal values off

I know that.. just thought that such a special failure may be an indicator as to what is broken.

I think I’ll have to get another cheap ram stick to check wether my RAM or my MB is broken, right?
