Hey guys, I'm trying to build a nas server kinda cheap I already have hardware buy cant seem to find a rack case with at least 10 Bays for 3.5 drives without dropping 500 CAD ... I would really like a case like linus have for his rig... but with hard drive cages.. did yall can help me with that?

Those cases typically are cheap. This should fit a lot of ATX like parts.

 

But for a home server, a desktop case can be a better fit.

Normal hardware like asus board with prism cooler r5 2600 16gb of ram so basicly my old pc so probably 4u

Can you list the full specs?

 

Why not get a tower case like a Fractal Define case? Should be a lot quieter and easier to build in.

Asus a320m (will upgrade later) just got a 5600g prism cooler 16 gb ram 4x4tb hdd ( will add more ) I would like to put my plex and nas at the same place I already have a rack for it..

It's what I have for my NAS.  Holds 11 hard drives.  $110 on Newegg currently.

I could but I really want to rack it... maybe I can find a case where I can hard mount some rail?

Would suggest looking on eBay for a used Supermicro chassis.  Probably find one inside your budget.  Just make sure the backplane supports the drives you are going to use (SAS and/or SATA).
