hey guys, I have been rocking a R9 7950x for the past year and even with my current 360 AIO i cant get the temps under control to something I would want without undervolting or underclocking. ive looked into other coolers but i think its time for me to dive into custom watercooling. though the price tag worries me. is there any reccomendations you guys could give me? would it be better to buy individual parts? also i dont mind spending the money but im kinda nervous dropping $800 on a kit from someone like corsair without some more information.

any and all help apreciated

thanks!

moeny spent on a loop will out way the saving of not spending it and If you need to" replace"  the cpu you could do so with something faster... any way. so you wc for looks and maybe nose.

money saved on a loop could go to a faster cpu/cpu down the road is the point even living with hier temps now

are you doing the gpu too?

i recommend soft tube for beginner but there people that have skills of other things and have done hard line in there first build so

Im not going to worry about GPU for now, but may end up getting a GPU block down the road. for now my gpu temps are great. is there any YT vids you may reccomend me? something to give me a better idea on what to buy?

there plenty of videos on youtube but th older ones might be using stuff that dc. j2c is all about water cooling but he was all in ek and corsair stuff and hardline but now is done with ek so...(not about the product but the company) as for other videos i dont no lots of them dont custom water loop cool.

most cpu block are going to work just fine and you need a pump res combo and tops are basically dead.

for rads any will work as to how much or big you want or need i dont no dont no what your case is. you could always add a rad in i guess pita for emptying the loop thow.

Greg Salazar did some water cooling stuff as well as dazmode but his stuff is old...but i guess still gets the point across. der8auer EN also did some loops too.

im guessing linus dose his yearly loop guide?🤔 but he has like many of them so...

With the advancements made with AiOs in recent years, newer models are much better than the ones using older Asetek pump designs. And with models like the Arctic Liquid Freezer III there really isn't much difference compared to custom water cooling anymore. Like with many of AMDs newer chips, the issue isn't dissipating the heat to the air, but getting it out of the CPU. And that's a problem that even custom water cooling can't fix.

So unless your priority is ultra-low-noise, also want to incorporate the GPU, or really like the tinkering with your PC, custom water cooling isn't worth it imo.

If you already have a good 360 mm AiO, a custom water loop won't get much better.

You say your temps are out of control. What does that mean? Can you post your load temps?

If you insist, look at stuff from Alphacool. They have good quality, also offer everything you need for a full loop, offer a web configurator and aren't as expensive as EK or Corsair.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

I have a NZXT Kraken Z Series Z73 360mm. I was super excited about the fancy screen on the block/pump but its performance is not what i would like it to be. with NZXT's software i pretty much run the pump and fans to degree i consider loud. Im hoping to acheive my max turbo and keep my temps under 90c (perferably under 80c). like i said, it works but not to what i want.

thanks for the advice

well i dont thing thats a good case for a water loop just one rad wont be better then an aio.

there a bunch of stuff you can do but all cost alot more moeny for little gane

the thing is throwing money at it to make it "last" that money can just be spend on replacing it or upgrading it. cpus come out like evry few moths so when / if you need to replace it you could just buy another one or an upgrade with the moeny you be saving. dropping $800+ for like 5-10c i dont no but up to you i guess.

with a custom loop and more then one rad you should get your temp and it be quiet but at a cost...
