Looking for feedback on a build <2500 USD

JaVPo

Hello all, I haven't followed pc parts for a while and have been racking my brain to come up with a system to replace my old I7 8700k and 1070 system. I have had zero problems with the old system but it'd starting to show its age with some newer games. I'm not a bleeding edge graphics enthusiast but would like to build something that will last the next 4 years or so.

Budget: <2500
County: United States
Gaming: 1440p
Other details: No RGB, black or dark components. Don't plan on buying a new system for 4-5 years. Don't care about RT and would like to stick with AMD GPU for less issues with linux. Need 2 nvme's to dual drive linux and win11. Just looking for components that are reliable and solid, wont be overclocking. Would like to stick with the Lian Li 216 case. Wasn't sure about ram choice?

Do you have a Microcenter near you?

Otherwise it is a good solid build, can cut some corners here and there but the bones are correct.  Ie, RAM can be cheaper, motherboard cheaper, etc.   Can grab a 7900XTX for $900 and max out the AMD combo.

The Lancool 216 is one of the last cases on this planet that requires extra case fans.

Good build, I just change the PSU for some like be quiet! Dark Power 13 or SeaSonic FOCUS Plus Platinum. The PSU that recommends @Why_Meis also good one.

The Phantom Spirit 120 EVO is also good tho choice or the 207 xt advanced.

If I upgraded to a 7900 XTX, would the PSU be more than enough with some headroom for possible future? May go that route with the reduction in cost you were able to get with the parts.

We can't know the future, but an 850w PSU is enough for a 4090.  For now.  But then again, I built a 7 year old PC with a 1080Ti with a 650w.

So... in 7 + years... buy a new PSU anyway 🙂

Why the 7900X3D?  And $150 in additional fans?  4 sticks isn't great for AM5, I would go 2x32GB instead.
