Cannot wipe hard drive partition

I'm trying to delete a lot, I mean a LOT of stuff from one of my drives

and when I try to delete them, first my file explorer freezes and then unfreezes when the "Discovered items" box shows up, but the discovered items box is stuck and just looping.

And I've tried it for over 4 hours but it just keeps looping. Also, It is 310GB partition of a 1TB hard drive.

Is the colour of it yellow in Disk Management?

Are you able to delete anything, like even 1 small file? or does it freeze even doing this?

Theres 164 gb free space and the files I need are only 42 gb in size and everything else is trash

It does not freeze on 1 file, when I select all of em' it just freezes

Can you delete them in smaller batches then?

yeah, but there are 208K GODDAMN FILES I need to delete.

I mean even break it down into 2 halves or thirds and see if deleting works then
