I'm considering overclocking my CPU but I don't know if it would help and/or change anything. What differences would I notice, if any in my rig? I usually play new games when they come out like Watch Dogs (Tomorrow!!!) in addition to LoL and BF4. It seems like everyone is overclocking and I feel like I should too. My PC specs are below.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Intel i7-7770K | Asus Maximus X Hero  | EVGA GTX980 SuperClocked | 16GB Memory| Samsung 960 EVO M.2 | Corsair RM 750W | Dell 27" S2716DG main display | Dual Dell ST2320L 23" Secondary displays | Windows 10

Logitech G710+ Keyboard | Logitech G502 mouse | Kingston HyperX Cloud headset | Corsair H100i

You can get 400MHz. It will give a small boost.

Also, OC your gpu as far as it can go.

your CPU isn't overclockable, the unlocked K version is overclocklable.. anyways, just leave it at it is, don't overclock anything :)

dont bother OC CPU, OC your gpu to the MAX :D btw, thats not a K processor so i dont think you can OC it :)

you can oc a locked cpu i oced mine to 4,14 ghz you just need an oc board and then you can increase bclk

Why bother..?

If its performing fine... then... why bother?

Maybe if Watch Dogs is running worse than expected maybe, but if your using settings that enable 60+fps then overclocking won't do much for ya.

Wait until games start to perform "worse than you think" (probably in a year or two)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

The non K CPUs (pre-haswell) can be overclocked to turbo-boost clock all the time with the ratio setting (did it with my 2600), over the boost clock you will need a K version

Sorry for the few off Capital letters in my posts, it does it on its own when I Write in English, since my OS is in another Language. It's annoying.
