Back in late 2022 my psu made an electrical noise and shuts down my pc, should I be concerned about it now that I'm trying to upgrade?

At that time I was watching youtube until my pc made some electrical noise then shuts down by itself, I figured it was from the power supply. I couldn't turn it on after that but then I tried switching the power button at the back of the power supply to off and on and then my pc turned on again. Since then my pc seems to be completely fine and it never happened again. Now I'm trying to upgrade my cpu and gpu, should I be concerned about the power supply? (PSU is Seasonic Core GM 80+ Gold)

No, you probably touched mains power connector and that caused that noise.

Really? How did that even happen tho, I was nowhere near the PSU.

Probably not but if you are concerned, maybe leave some budget for a new PSU.

 

If you heard a kinfa fizz sound, then it could have easily been a loose power cable. If you then moved the case to reach around the back then that might have been enough to push the cable back in.

 

If all has been well since that incident then chances are you've got nothing to worry about.

All has indeed been well ever since that, pc never shuts down on its own again. So I'm probably good to go right?
