Crime - looking for help

So on Sunday evening some guy decided to help him to some valuables in my car. I have 1080p footage of the entire thing and was hoping someone with a good GPU could upsample it to get a better look at the crook. Can anybody help me

if you upsample lower res footage for investigative purposes you will be submitting/using false information

I just want to know who it was. They trashed my car and were in it for 9 minutes

upsampling isnt magic, you wont be able to CSI enhance your way to someone's identity.

have you bothered to ask the police for help as they might have already caught the person and are just waiting for other people to come forward

Then give it to the police.

 

Your igpu can peek at it no problem.  There is no sharpening like on TV.  If the pixels aren't there, no DLSS will create them.

You greatly over estimate the interest the Irish police would have in something like this. I have reported it. They dont care cause its so small. This individual came up my elderly parents driveway and managed to ransack my car for 9 minutes without anybody or my dogs noticing. Its making my skin crawl and worse its making my parents feel unsafe. Just want to put a face to the guy for them. if its not possible that's fine

No, please understand: it doesn't matter if an image has 8 pixels or 8 million pixels.

 

Any "sharper" images will be made up by the software.

Keep the video as is. You can share this with your auto insurance if needed.

Yes it's clearer but it's false. The image on the left is Barrack Obama, US President.  The right is some guy not him.

 

If what you caught on camera isn't clear, get better cameras.

 

Otherwise, try to call a video editing locally to help.  Maybe they can sharpen it with what is there a little.

I would like to thank you for the constructive posts. Thankfully the footage has been very useful to law enforcement. However, I must address one post. @emosun I never claimed to be an expert in this. However, the footage has been cleaned up and identified a suspect based on an article of clothing and surrounding cctv. I will never get my property back and I accepted that from the moment it happened however my mother who has an extreme anxiety condition can now sleep in her own home without fear. Your tag of "professional Mean Girl" while apt is nothing more than a pathetic excuse for juvenile demeaning behavior, "have you bothered to ask the police for help" as if it wouldn't dawn on me to report a crime costing me several hundred euro. I live in a very small town in Ireland and my local police force isn't going to call in a CSI team over an insignificant robbery" have them do forensics if they were in your car for 9 minutes" as you said. Grow up and have some empathy for people

also , i live in a tiny town as well to which the police DID do forensics on my car , that's why i recommended it.

I understand that theres a chance you may be crabby that your vehicle was broken into , but welcome to the club. No need to be angry with us for suggesting asking the cops for help.
