So, my friend just got a new laptop and from what I understand ALL of the windows updates are done and everything is done installing the Task Manager looks fine, but in discord he has major delay and everything keeps disconnecting. But on his old laptop that's not the case. Checking internet drivers, re installing them is not helping. I don't know what to do anymore.

Does he have any issues staying connecting with his computer in any other apps, Steam, etc. If Discord is the only issue, then post in the Discord Forum for better results https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/360000790031-Account-Server-Management

How do you connect to the Internet? Is it wireless? Or via a Ethernet Cable?

Do any other devices on the network have connection issues or only this computer?

If this is the only device that has a problem, run https://www.speedtest.net/

You can Reset the Network on the computer by going to Settings/Network and Internet/Advanced Network Settings/Network Reset/Reset Now.

You can also Power Cycle the Internet Router (ie) Unplug it, wait 15 seconds and plug it back in and wait 5 minutes until all of the lights are on and try it again.

If all devices have a connection problem, contact ISP to test the lines.
