It should. Do you have them already? You can get 290Xs on eBay for the same price as a 280X new.

No. I'm just looking into getting one then crossfireing when 4k is ready.

I don't know how I'd feel about buying a second hand GPU. Especially one that high end as I feel like the owner probably ran them hard mining crypto.

Oh ok. Yeah, they did lol but if it does die you can RMA and all that. I just traded someone a WB, 780, and $100 for 2 290Xs.

Probably not at 60 FPS, I'd look at a nice 1440p display as it's closer to 4K but without all the scaling issues.

1440p is dead or at least really niche. Movies and other content will jump straight to 4k. As for the scaling issues I'm sure Windows 9 will fix it.

1440p is pretty big as of right now as a good IPS 4K monitor is still in the thousands versus a few hundred for a 1440p IPS and Win 9 is just speculation.

Do you have a 1440p? How was the jump from 1080p? What brand/model is it?

I guess getting a 1440p monitor would be worth it just to get away from my 1080p TN panel.

I don't have a 1440p but my friend does (Asus PB278Q), the jump from 1080p is pretty nice but not as good as 4K of course and just getting a IPS alone makes a massive difference also going to a 27" looks huge at first but you'll get use to it pretty quickly and the productivity isn't that much more than a 24" IMO.

I would recommend grabbing an R9 290 instead, you can fetch them for as low as $369 on occasion. You get more memory, true audio and FreeSync support.

The 280X doesn't get native FreeSync support unfortunately.

LOL 4k.

And no 1440p is far from dead, 4K is dead, it has no market yet.
