hi there, i recently saw the video about bottlenecking in linus youtube channel and i was wondering if that happend to me. I have an amd fx 6100, would it bottleneck my radeon hd 7970? if thats so, what amd proccesor would give the best about that graphics card? Also, will i notice any difference in gaming if i changed my proccesor?

Sorry about my english and thanks for the help

Yes it would bottle neck it quite a bit.

no...... the fx-6300 is a 6 core with a good core clock. That gpu could run a GTX780 just fine

If it was starting to bottleneck mate then you could overclock it a little

No it will not. The amount of cores does not really matter in this situation...

Most games will only use 2 cores or 4 core's if the game is optimally coded. The fx-6300 is even less than an i3.

To be even comparable to a GTX 780 he should be running an FX 8350 min for AMD or a 4570K minimum by Intel.

The FX-6300 is a severe bottleneck.

The FX 6300 performs just as well as the 8350 in games, so why would the 6300 bottleneck and the 8350 wouldn't? Your logic is flawed

I don't get why people still manage to post things like this really. Imo a 6300 is just the best cpu in terms of value from amd's side - honestly a 6300 has more advantages than a 8320 does like much better oc potential and its easier to cool and to maintain extreme silence.

@Op in mmo's yes even two 15000$ cpu xeon would bottleneck it. Something like BF4 no not at all, a single 7970 isn't a challenge.

Not sure what you are talking about, look at the image in the qoute below this one...

Ya well we are not talking about Value, or OC potential, we are talking about which will give him more FPS in games with his graphics card.

/e also we were posting about FX-6300, meant to type FX-6100

That benchmark is corrupted. Battlefield 4 doesnt take advantage of more than 6 cores.

Don't really see how it is corrupt? Those are the numbers given when tested in that configuration?

Also yours is tested at Medium Settings with a Higher Res. Just a different test that's all.

Also Fx6100 not listed?

There's no way a 8320 outperforms a 6300 in BF4 and it's complety impossible a 8320 outperforming a i5. The game does NOT see any performance past 6 cores.

This is how corrupt they are: http://gamegpu.ru/images/stories/Test_GPU/Action/Far%20Cry%203%20v.%201.0.2/far%20cry%20proz.png
