Heatsink fan

darkn3ss99

So i just installed everything into my case except the gpu and the ram since they havent arrived yet. I hooked up the cpu fan to the motherboard and case fans to my psu. I turned on the power to see if the fans are working and the cpu fan isnt moving at all. The case fans are working but the cpu fan is not. Is this suppose to happen?

What motherboard have you got ?
(better yet please list your PC's specs)

Some motherboard (like Gigiebyte) manufactures like to so a cool and quite tech my default. so the cpu fan will not spin up until it hits a pre set temp

Never a good idea to start up a pc without memory and graphics. Anyways, have you checked the PSU connections to the motherboard (do you see any ligths flickering?)? Have you connected the CPU fan connector the right way? Is the CPU fan broke (have you tried another one?)?
