Help picking my monitor

The pros use what they are use to. for your hardware id recommend 1440p 240hz/360hz and OLED if you can fit it into the budget. Much better detail and motion clarity. Its not worth it to buy a 1080p 360hz unless you can get a good quality one for like 200$ which is not really a thing.

Hello. I'm struggling deciding what monitor to get with my new pc. My cpu is an AMD 7800X3D, and my gpu is a 4080 Super. I play a lot of games like CS, R6, Overwatch, and Fortnite. Those are games where I need good FPS and are more competitive. I also play a lot of Diablo, RDR2, and other games where quality would be really nice to have. Is there any difference between 1080p 240Hz and 1440p 240Hz? I mean every pro I've seen uses 1080p 240Hz even though their pc probably can produce enough FPS on a 1440p monitor. Also, is it worth reducing the performance on competitive games from 360Hz 1080p to 240Hz 1440p? Thank you for any help!

I think a 1440p 240hz monitor is the way to go for you since you do a variation of games.
I have an RTX 4080 myself and I use a 1440p 240hz monitor and its great 馃檪聽 Nice middle ground.

1080p for your system is just garbage, it looks terrible compared to 1440p.

Okay, what oled monitor would you recommend? Something around like ~$800 would be perfect.聽

Yeah, 1440p definitely seems like the right way to go. Thank you for the quick answer!

Something like that. I havent seen any reviews on that specific one, but the QD OLED panels have been pretty popular and well reviewed.
