Cherry MX Clear

kymark

Does anybody here have experienced using this switches? I seldom see them in most keyboards today, don't know if it's just rare or discontinued.

I've already seen this, I was just wondering if someone here already experienced using a clear switch, and maybe tell me what brand of KB did they got it from. Cause I haven't seen any KB manufacturers (apparently only the one's I know) that sell MX Clear switches.

I have a Clear keyboard in the Leopold FC660M Cherry MX Clear, it's a beautiful 60% form factor keyboard. Here's a shot of the switch...

Think of Clear as a stiffer/heavier Brown (which is too light and 'mushy' for me), but with a more defined bump or tactile feel, I love it, and many that have Clear keyboards would agree.....that's the reason why I had scoured the net looking for Clear, White/Milk and Green switch keyboards.

i think its rare.

but there is a reason that it is rare, not many people like it.

try it out, otherwise get other switches.

really now.....

maybe it's actually because Cherry corp has a limited number of production lines and switch types get rotated out for awhile before they're given a new line so they can continue production?

Been using them for only a month, but they're exactly what I wanted from a mechanical switch. Have a bit of a review of the WASD Code 87 keyboard here.

but it got rotated out because people didnt really ask for that type of switch  :)

explains the demand for code boards w/ clears and poker 2 with clears.

Hmm I guess that's why it's rare, well I think it's just a brown switch with the stiffness of the blues, I think people who like both blues and browns would appreciate this, I might like this too, thanks for the feedback and review guys :D

Man it seems it's built for heavier hands than mine, don't want to press harder than I am doing now :D. Unless there's a more satisfying tactile sound or bump.

It's the quietest mechanical switch I've used out of the Cherry lineup. The tactile bump is definitely more noticeable, how satisfying it is would be subjective, but I like being able to recognize the bump compared to Brown switches. I don't bottom out with the Clears.

Wouldn't it make it more like a blue switch if that is the feel? Hmmm I guess it can be also called a brown switch with a more kick in it :D.

It may have the more defined bump of the Blue, but is stiffer without the 'click'. It's a personal choice, I'm using my Leopold FC660M Cherry Clear as the daily driver for my 3rd rig, excellent for gaming and typing out posts like this.......somehow, I feel more confident and more comfortable typing with Clear, I tend to make less mistakes as well.

Well it seems it just suits you well, for me personally nothing beats the feel of the blues. But sometimes I want to use some browns as well when I just want to relax my fingers :D
